BRI series thermal protectors are temperature and current protectors made of thermal bimetal, a high quality thermal sensitive material imported from Japan. This product is mainly used for motor and electric appliances overheating overload protection, with fast temperature sensing, sensitive action, reliable performance. As a temperature protector, it’s widely used in electronics industry and no need for maintenance.

1. There should be no corrosive and destructive dielectric around;
2. The thermal protector is mainly embedded in the winding of the rotating motor to protect against overheating and over current caused by the failure of the rotating motor such as overload or gridlock;
3. The heat protector can also be used for overheating protection of other electrical equipment and electrical components with temperature control requirements, or as a heat signal and sensor.

Structure and working principle:
The thermal switch does special treatment to the butterfly-shape bimetallic element based on the characteristics of hot bimetallic material bending force. With the increase of temperature, the element builds up energy. When the temperature reaches the rated disconnect temperature, the force generated by the element will have instantaneous reverse action, disconnect contact, and cut off the circuit, to achieve the protection function. When the temperature drops to the automatic reset temperature, the contact is closed, circuit is turned on, and the power will be restored.

Installation attention

When installing the thermal protector, it must be close to the heating part of the protected body to ensure the normal transfer of heat energy;

The thermal protector with metal shell has been equipped with insulation sleeve before delivery. If the sleeve is not used during installation, adequate insulation protection measures shall be provided;

During installation and use, the shell shall not be deformed and the insulation part shall not be damaged or fall off, so as not to affect the performance;

Wiring principle: After the action of the thermal protector, the whole circuit of the protected body should be cut off.
