Overview
There are 3 models for plastic cabinet automatic reset type circuit breaker. They are E516, E517 and E518, one of the members of 10-32 stud circuit breaker, which is widly used in vehicle, marine, battery chargers etc. This series are heavy duty circuit breakers from 5A to 50A and can be applied to 6-28V DC applications.
The function of circuit breaker is: when the circuit occurs a short circuit, serious overload, loss of voltage and other dangerous faults, circuit breaker can automatically cut off the faulty circuit, effectively protect the series connected behind the electrical equipment. Therefore, circuit breaker is a very important protection appliance in distribution network. Circuit breakers are widely used in electrical engineering because of their advantages such as safe operation, adjustable action value, good breaking ability and taking into account various protection functions.
E516, E517 and E518 belong to Type Ⅰ auto reset stud circuit breaker. The cabinet is made of plastic.
E516 is a stud mounting type. E517 is a horizontal mounting bracket, and E518 is a parallel mounting bracket.
The overcurrent breaker is a bimetallic structure that can quickly shut down electric vehicle circuits if they become overloaded, protecting the entire circuit.

Installation notice:
The silver column (AUX) indicates in and the copper column (BAT) indicates out. They only protect one way. The bolt has a battery and power label. The gold studs are battery studs.
Note that the two threaded studs of the circuit breaker do not touch metal. Studs carry battery voltage and must be insulated from any conduction including metal fenders.
E516, E517 and E518 circuit breakers are Type 1, which are auto reset breakers. Auto reset means that the breaker can self-reset without any help from users.
So circuit breaker provides continuous protection until the overcurrent is found and corrected. Then it automatically resets.
The breaker will trip (disconnect the power) when it detects the overload current. It will self-reset.
