Overview
There are 3 models for metal cabinet modified reset type circuit breaker. They are E521, E522 and E523, one of the members of 10-32 stud circuit breaker, which is widly used in vehicle, marine, battery chargers, trolling motors etc.
E521, E522 and E523 belong to Type Ⅱ modified reset stud circuit breaker. The cabinet is made of metal and the color is silver which is distinguish from E511 series in appearance.
E521 is a stud mounting type. E522 is a horizontal mounting bracket, and E523 is a parallel mounting bracket.

Circuit breaker protects the circuit from high current short circuit.

Through its thermal trip, it protects the circuit from overload conditions. If excessive drawing or current flows through the internal heat diverter, the circuit breaker will trip.

Installation Notice
Installation notice:
The silver column (AUX) indicates in and the copper column (BAT) indicates out. They only protect one way. The bolt has a battery and power label. The gold studs are battery studs.
Note that the two threaded studs of the circuit breaker do not touch metal. Studs carry battery voltage and must be insulated from any conduction including metal fenders.
E521, E522 and E523 circuit breakers are Type Ⅱ, which are modified reset breakers.Modified reset means it remains in open position while there is power to the circuit. Circuit breaker resets when ignition is turned off.
After installation, test the circuit breaker by intentionally exceeding the rated current to ensure that it trips and disconnects the circuit as expected. Then, perform a manual reset to ensure the breaker can be reset after tripping.
